Season 5, Episode 1: You're Gonna Love Tomorrow

The story of the ladies on Wisteria Lane are moved ahead five years in time to when Susan flirts with her painter, Jackson Braddock, after Mike having been gone for so long, but not willing to commit to a relationship. Meanwhile, Bree denies all the help "her" company has received from her business partner Katherine, while Andrew feels like a doormat under Bree's influence. Lynette still has problems in getting Tom to see the light when it comes to their over exuberant trouble-making twins Porter and Preston. Also, Edie moves back to Wisteria Lane with a new husband: a charming but mysterious guy named Dave Williams who no one knows anything about. Elsewhere, Gabrielle deals with Carlos who is still blind as well as their two spoiled and overweight daughters Juanita and Celia.

Season 5, Episode 2: We're So Happy You're So Happy

Bree fails to notice the effect of her working long hours at cooking company is having on her home life as Orson, whom is revealed to have spent two years in prison after confessing to attempting to kill Mike, and whom begins to resent her. Meanwhile, Susan fails to notice that being friends isn't necessarily a bad thing when her ex-husband Mike, and her new painter boyfriend Jackson become friendly. Lynette fails to notice the impending doom regarding the new way she's bonded with one of her sons, Porter, after her loyal other son, Parker, gives her advice on how to approach him by pretending to be a student on his Internet chat space. Gabrielle fails to notice that she has fallen in social status due to her life change, and Carlos' new status as a stay-at-home masseuse. Elswhere, suspicion grows regarding Edie's new husband, Dave Williams, and his mysterious past as the elderly Mrs. McCluskey enlists Katherine's help to uncover more about Edie's new husband, and what his reasons for insisting to Edie that they have moved back to Wisteria Lane.

Season 5, Episode 3: Kids Ain't Like Everybody Else

Danielle returns to Wisteria Lane with her son and new husband in tow, only to face psychological warfare from her mother, Bree, who naturally disapproves of how she is bringing up her son. Meanwhile, Susan tries to protect her son, MJ, from a bully, only to find out it's Gabrielle's daughter who is the bully, which puts a rift between the mothers. Gabrielle tries to deal with cutting costs when Carlos wants to sell their old car, and Gabby has too much pride to let it go. So, she turns to Andrew for help in borrowing his car to show off. Lynette continues to deal with Tom who decides that the cure to his midlife crisis includes starting up a garage band with Edie's husband, Dave. Elsewhere, Karen McCluskey continues to investigate Dave with Katherine's help, but she cannot convince Edie of her suspicious that Dave is not who he claims to be.

Season 5, Episode 4: Back in Business

Bree's new cookbook and entrepreneurial success has the women of Wisteria Lane feeling jealous, especially Lynette who's longing for a taste of her bread winning days as an ad executive leads her to lend an unsolicited hand to Bree's marketing plan. Meanwhile, M.J.'s drawing of a family portrait of him, Susan, and Jackson has left Mike feeling like he's not a presence in his son's life anymore. Gabrielle hatches a plan to have more sex with Carlos, but their daughter, Juanita, gets a first-hand view of it. Susan teaches a reluctant M.J. how to fall off his bicycle when Jackson begins teaching him to ride instead of Mike. Also, Dave's motives for moving to the neighborhood continue to take shape as he continue to hide his prison background from Edie as well as his violent temper he keeps under control with numerous sedatives, and he also persuades Mike to move into a house that he buys down the street, by working behind the scenes to have some mysterious and sinister plan for everyone involved.

Season 5, Episode 5: Mirror, Mirror

Periodic flashbacks to the past five years explain some of the missing pieces that were left unanswered. Driven by his hidden and twisted agenda, Dave convinces Susan to throw Mrs. Karen McCluskey a surprise party for her 70th birthday. As everyone gets ready for the party, Jackson wants to take his relationship with Susan to the next level by moving in together. Susan flashes back to how she forced Mike to end their marriage, and how Jackson came into her life and who was turned on by her neurotic and unpredictable behavior. Gabrielle is concerned she might be pregnant, again. Gabby flashes back to how she became pregnant, twice, and only Carlos was happy about it. Tom tells Lynette he's sold the pizzeria as part of his plan to relive his youth by planning a cross-country road trip. Lynette flashes back to how an accident with Tom made him decide to live life as fully and recklessly as he could. Bree continues to have problems with unemployed Orson who wants to work for her catering company. Bree flashed back to how she fell off the wagon the day when Orson was sent to prison for three years for the hit-and-run attempt on Mike, and how Katherine came to her rescue by insisting that she be made a partner in her business. Also, an outraged Mrs. Karen McCluskey has the entire neighborhood questioning her sanity when she discovers that Dave had broken into her house, and she attacks him at her party, which is all his clever ploy to remove her from the scene so no one can stop him from carrying out his secret plan for revenge against the entire neighborhood for something from his past.

Season 5, Episode 6: There's Always a Woman

Gabrielle has a fit when one of Carlos's wealthy massage clients, Virginia Hildebrand, makes them an offer they can't refuse, but a startling discovery leaves Gabby second guessing. Meanwhile, Lynette grows suspicious that Tom is cheating on her with the sultry Anne Schilling, a promoter who wants to book Tom's new garage band for a show. One of the Scavo twins, Porter, gets grounded for getting into trouble with the law... again. Susan and Jackson break up when she wants to continue to keep their tryst casual, while he wants to move forward with their romance. Later, when Susan shows up at his house to tries to surprise him, the surprise is on her as she finds a naked woman in his shower. Elsewhere, the bond between Bree and Katherine grows, when Bree meets Orson's old college roommate, Peter, and she tries to set him up with the lonely Katherine. Also, Mrs. McCluskey enlists the help of her shady younger sister, Roberta, to dig up dirt on Dave and to find out what his plans are for the entire neighborhood, while the superficial Edie continues to be in denial to Dave's temper and the secrets he is hiding when he contradicts his life story to her.

Bree's moment of weakness with her cookbook could bring her great embarrassment and shame, while Katherine's not-so-little secret is unveiled. Susan learns of Jackson's true passion. Also, Mrs. McCluskey's sister, Roberta, unearths a disturbing fact about Dave when she discovers that he spent time in prison, and that he's connected to someone who lives, or had lived, on Wisteria Lane.

Season 5, Episode 8: City on Fire

Susan's daughter, Julie, comes to visit with her surprising new boyfriend, an older man named Lloyd. Gabrielle uncovers the unsettling truth about Virgina Hildebrand's past and why she's obsessed with moving into the Solis' lives. Katherine has a confession to make to Susan that she is now involved with Mike. Meanwhile, Bree becomes more nervous when a reporter looks to expose her imperfections, since Bree's entire life is built around perfection. Lynette learns that Porter and his older love interest, Anne Schilling, plan to leave Fairview and run away. Lynette begins to suspect that Anne is conning Porter by claiming that she is pregnant, and beings to doubt that she is being abused by her husband. Dave's psychologist, Dr. Heller, arrives in Fairview looking for Dave, and has a fateful confrontation with him. Elsewhere, everyone gathers at a nightclub to see Dave, Tom, and Mike play in the annual "Battle of the Bands" when a fire breaks out, threatening the lives of those in attendance in which several people will die, but one hero will emerge... so it seems.

Season 5, Episode 9: Me and My Town

In the aftermath of the devastating nightclub fire, Susan deals with the fact that the recovering Mike is now involved with Katherine. Meanwhile, Porter gets accused of setting the fire, and Lynette decides to protect him despite not believing his innocent claims that he did not start the fire. Lynette also confronts Annie in which she bribes her to leave town and never see Porter again. Bree deals with Orson's snoring habit resulting from his broken nose, and in trying to deal with her sleepless nights, has an unfortunate reaction to one too many sleeping pills to cope with it. Carlos learns that there's a possibility he could get his sight back, but this isn't good news for Gabrielle who doesn't want him to see her as she is now. Elsewhere, Dave (the real culprit of the fire) struggles with hiding his guilt, while he begins planting evidence that Porter is the guilty party for setting the fire.

Season 5, Episode 10: A Vision's Just a Vision

As Carlos' sight begins to return, he begins to see what sacrifices Gabrielle made to keep her family intact, while Porter gets arrested after Dave tells the police he saw the boy coming out of the storeroom just before the fire. But when Porter tells Lynette and Tom about a separate crime that he committed by breaking into Edie's house to steal a gun to use against Annie's husband, Lynette takes great measures to try to sneak back in to Edie's house to return it unnoticed. Meanwhile, Bree deals with the revelation that Andrew'a latest beau is Orson's plastic surgeon, Dr. Alex Cominis, which leads her to invite Alex over for dinner at her house. While Katherine's new romance comes to bloom with Mike, it's his son, MJ, who doesn't approve. Elsewhere, Dave keeps seeing a mysterious woman holding a young girl all over the neighborhood, including his own doorstep.

Season 5, Episode 11: Home Is the Place

Bree forces Andrew to bring Alex's common mother Melina to dinner, but the future in-laws instantly hate each-other, rivaling for their gay sons' presence at family holidays, and in whose town they'll live. Susan and Lee get so drunk they wake up in bed together. Bob discovers twins Porter and Preston switched places and refuses to risk disbarring for failing to report so by the next court date. So finds out the twins have phone contact and leans on Preston to help save bail, hence the business, by asking his brother back. Carlos intends to accept a feel good job in the community center which helped him while blind. Gaby will stop at nothing to steer him to a more lucrative job with Bradley Scott, however unhappy that lifestyle makes his wife Maria. Edie discovers at night Dave is secretly committed to people on a picture he hides.

Bree reaps the success of her new book by treating herself to a new car, which irks Lynette since she had to sell Tom's Mustang for some extra cash. Meanwhile, Susan is determined to send M.J. to the best school, even though she and Mike can't afford the high tuition. Gabrielle joins Edie's no nonsense boot camp to get herself back into shape. Also, Lee is conflicted over whether or not to tell Lynette and Tom some disturbing facts about Dave whom he begins to suspect of setting the nightclub fire and lying about Porter setting it.

Meanwhile, Lynette tells Tom that they may have to sell the Scavo's Pizzeria since business continues to go bad, but he stubbornly refuses to cave in. Carlos receives a generous bonus when Gabrielle discovers Carlos' boss' dirty little secret of him cheating on his wife. Also, Orson confronts Bree when he learns she's given Andrew a raise without consulting him first. After his confrontation with Tom, Dave begins to get more nervous when he thinks that the his neighbors are beginning to suspect he's up to no good. But it's Edie who begins to suspect Dave's intentions the most.

In the aftermath of the Scavo Pizzara going under, Bree tells Lynette she'll help Tom secure a new job at her company. But even the best intentions will reach a tempestuous end when a dinner engagement set up results in both Lynette and Tom competing against each other for the job, and Bree discovers Orson's growing kleptomania habit. Meanwhile, Gabrielle finds herself in a precarious position when Carlos' adulterous boss, Brad, begins using Gaby to cover for himself as he continues to cheat on his wife. Susan becomes more unsettled after Katherine moves in with Mike and has a painting that Susan painted removed from the house. Also, Edie begins to investigate more into Dave's past after a chance encounter with an old acquaintance of Dave's whom is the priest who performed the funeral for Dave'e wife and daughter.

Season 5, Episode 17: The Story of Lucy and Jessie

As Susan continues to work as a teachers' aide, she tries stay on the reading teacher and her employer's, Jessie's, good side since she will be evaluating Susan's performance. But Jessie, who happens to be a closeted lesbian, mistakes Susan's stuttering and lame attempts to be friendly as come-ons. Meanwhile, Edie begins looking for more information at a local newspaper office on information on the people who died in Mike's car accident years earlier, and discovers the connection between the victims, and Dave, who continues to badger Mike into taking him and Katherine out on a camping trip. Lynette interviews for an ad job for herself, and soon answers one. Bree forces Orson to attend therapy sessions for their marital troubles, as well as his kleptomania. Following the death of his boss, Carlos gets a promotion, which will lead to him working with Lucy, an overweight, but attractive woman in her late 30s... and who happens to be Carlos's ex-roommate and very first love interest which sparks both surprise and jealousy in Gabrielle.

Season 5, Episode 18: A Spark. To Pierce the Dark.

Bree considers selling her cooking business to save her marriage to Orson, but soon goes back on her word when both of their egos get in the way. Meanwhile, Lynette is threatened by Lucy at her new office job, while Gabrielle and Carlos cross boundaries as Carlos has no time for her, and Lynette decides to play Lucy and Carlos against one another. Elsewhere, Katherine volunteers to accompany Mike and Dave on a camping trip while he plots to murder her with a gun he brings. Susan's ex-husband, Karl, returns and enrolls his troubled son, Evan, in her class where a gruesome drawing by the petulant youngster disturbs her. Also, Edie continues investigating Dave's past and finally learns about Dave's connection to Mike, but at the end learns the fatal way just how seriously deranged her husband is.

Season 5, Episode 19: Look Into Their Eyes and You See What They Know

After Edie suddenly dies in a car accident, she narrates her story from beyond the grave when Susan, Bree, Gabrielle, Lynette, and Karen McCluskey travel out of town to visit Edie's estranged teenage son, Travers, at his boarding school to deliver her ashes to him. During the long car drive, each of the five women think back to their most significant time in Edie's life. Susan recalls how she first met the superficial and man-lusting Edie and how she taught the klutzy Susan how to deal with her place in the world. Lynette recalls how Edie took her to a rough biker bar while she was ill with cancer and encouraged her to push on. Bree recalls how Edie encouraged her to visit Orson in prison for his crimes. Gabby recalls how she inadvertently challenged Edie's superiority complex during a night on the town in carousing for men. Finally, Mrs. McCluskey recalls how Edie confided in her about how she gave away her son to protect him from her own self-destructive lifestyle; she planned to live life as fully and recklessly as she could.

Season 5, Episode 20: Rose's Turn

When Orson is admitted to the hospital after he attempts to rob an old woman whose house he breaks into, he's confident that nobody will believe her because of her senile personality. But later, Bree becomes suspicious of the truth, but keeps it to herself. Meanwhile, Tom and Gabrielle square-off against one another when Tom joins Gabrielle's new gardening club and she worries about a fellow member flirting with Tom, while Carlos saves Lynette after she falls and hits her head in the shower. Dave goes into a decline over Edie's death, and when Susan pays a visit to cheer him up, she discovers his handgun he's been plotting to kill Katherine with. But naturally drawing the wrong conclusion, thinking that Dave intends to kill himself, Susan steals the gun and as with her klutzy wout, ends up getting pulled over and arrested. Also, Katherine pressures Mike to move forward with their romance to the next level, and Dave eventually learns that he's been targeting the wrong Whisteria Lane resident and now targets Susan.

Season 5, Episode 21: Bargaining

Mike becomes more uncertain about his future with Katherine when M.J. asks if he is going to marry Katherine. Tom and Lynnette try out an experiment of having sex for 30 days straight to spruce up their troubled marriage. Bree asks Susan's ex-husband Karl, now a divorce lawyer, for representation for her divorce from Orson in order to deny him any percent of her catering business. Karl agrees to be Bree's lawyer, but only if she tries to get his trouble-making son, Evan, invited to M.J.'s sleepover. Elsewhere, Jackson suddenly returns in Susan life where he proposes marriage to her. But his proposal is not the kind Susan is expecting. Carlo asks Gabrielle not to wear make-up for one night during an business award ceremony to make their eldest daughter, Juanita, appreciate her own unattractive appearance. Also, Dave now focuses his energies on Susan to murder her son as well as her beau, and decides to accelerate his plans when the police pay him a visit asking questions about his murdered psychiatrist.

Season 5, Episode 22: Marry Me a Little

Susan and Jackson announce their engagement to everyone, which has Mike feeling uneasy about it and debates with himself a future with Katherine on proposing marriage as well. Dave becomes worried when he figures out that Jackson may have witnessed him setting the fire at the nightclub. He also gets worried when he accidentally overhears Susan confiding in Katherine that the upcoming marriage is fake in order to let Jackson stay in the country. Dave plots to remove Jackson with an anonymous phone call to the NRS authorities. Meanwhile, Karl persuades Bree to stage a break-in of her own house to steal items to keep them from Orson, in her latest underhanded attempt to hide her assets from him. Gabrielle, feeling that Juanita may he a bit spoiled, forces her to volunteer at a local soup kitchen with her where Gabby meets an old friend, named Fran, who is now homeless herself. Elsewhere, Tom wishes to have plastic surgery to not only keep his youth intact, but to use his new appearance to find a new job, in which Lynette disapproves.

Season 5, Episode 23: Everybody Says Don't

Gabrielle becomes upset when Carlos' family invites them over at his Aunt Connie's house where she asks them to look after Carlos' niece, Ana, for a while which the not-so-innocent youngster disrupts the Solises daily routine. Meanwhile, Lynette becomes angry at Tom when tells her that he wants to go back to college to seek more education for his job hunting when she thinks he desperately does not want to let go of his youth. The brutal battle of the sexes between Orson and Bree gets nasty when Orson discovers the storage locker, in Bree's name, with all of the stolen merchandise from their house and blackmails her by demanding EVERYTHING of hers when she finally serves him with divorce papers. Elsewhere, Susan, still unaware about Dave's true nature, accepts his friendly gesture towards her over losing Jackson. Also, Detectives Lyons and Collins make headway in the arson fire which leads them to finding Dr. Heller's identity and that he was the one responsible for the fire after they have a talk with the imprisoned Jackson who confirms their story. When the news of Dr. Heller's murder gets back to Karen McClusky's sister Roberta from his receptionist, it puts Mrs. McCluskey and Roberta back on their case of investigating Dave.

Season 5, Episode 24: If It's Only in Your Head

Lynette accepts Tom's decision to go back to college. But when Lynette later finds out that she's pregnant with twins, they must decide what path their future will take. Meanwhile, Bree must decide how to finally rid herself of Orson and contend with the advances of Karl, her lawyer. Ana moves in with Gabrielle and Carlos over Gabby's objections that Ana is not who she claims to be when she begins throwing her weight around by slacking off and coercing the Scavo twins into doing her household chores. Also, Dave puts his final plan of revenge to kill M.J. in full force while Mike and Katherine plan their Las Vegas wedding trip. When Mrs. McCluskey and Roberta break into Dave's house to look for evidence against him, they find the suicide DVD of him talking about killing M.J. as revenge for his wife and daughter's death from the car accident (in the season opener) and Detectives Lyons and Collins rush out to find him, while Mike is forced to leave Katherine behind at the airport to find and rescue Susan and MJ before it's too late.
