Wild Ginseng (Simbwassda) (1979)

Na On-bo lives looking for wild ginseng in the mountains. He finds an old
ginseng and becomes a millionaire over night and plans his future
accordingly. However, everyone in the village takes interest in the ginseng
for themselves. Medicinal herb shop owner Kang tries to trick him into
buying the ginseng cheap to him but On-bo sees through his greed and runs
away into mountain with his family. When people look for him to take ginseng
away, his son dies and Chun takes the ginseng from the family. On-bo who
lost everything falls in despair.
The Rose (The Rose That Swallowed Thorn)(1979)

A college girl Jang-mi parts with her lover Kyu-sik and suffers from lack of
love due to her unfortunate childhood with a stubborn father. She feels
affection toward a mid-aged man in a train on her way to Busan but does not
pursue him for he is married. She wanders about to end up as a call girl and
overdoses on sleeping pills, driven by Kyu-sik's criticism. She is put into a
mental hospital and falls in love with Se-ho. She looks forward to being
married to him but her dream is shattered by her past.
